The ICDR® Global Working Group on the Resolution of Technology, Life Sciences and IP Disputes has published the Consultation Draft of the ICDR White Paper on the The Effective, Expedient, and Expert Resolution of International Technology, Life Sciences, and IP Disputes. Importantly, the Paper includes the results of the survey conducted by the Working Group studying the unique characteristics and broad range of international disputes that raise technology, life sciences, and IP related issues across a wide range of industries. This survey, with over 500 responses, gives an in-depth insight into how arbitration and other forms of ADR can best assist parties in resolving technology, life science and IP disputes. Based on the survey results and input from its expert members, the ICDR Working Group released the Consultation Draft of the White Paper based on its findings. The feedback and exchange from this session will allow the ICDR Working Group to further hone its recommendations from the survey concerning how arbitration, mediation, and other forms of ADR can better serve the technology and life sciences industries and others in resolving their technology, life sciences, and IP disputes. It will also look to assist rightholders in protecting their IP rights more efficiently and effectively by employing arbitration and other forms of ADR to improve the resolution of such disputes and limit the risk. This session will delve into the most pressing issues and offers strategic insights and make recommendations for how the resolution of these disputes can be improved.
